Stewardship of the Family- 4 things every family can live without
When sin entered into the first family, everything blew up. Sin brought with it a host of realities that the family is better not to have. Shame, Blame, Guilt, Hyper-Competition(Heierarchy)… all of these are the result of sin corrupting the family.
Jesus came to take away the impact of sin. His intention is to remove these things from the family so that we can freely experience the joy of managing the gift God has given us.
Today’s message is a look at what it means to manage the family- to work towards its restoration as it was intended to be- a reflection of God’s holy gift. In order for that to happen we have to be honest about those attitudes and responses that are the result of sin, and work with God’s help to keep those things out of our homes.
We look at Adam and Eve’s relationship before and after sin to see what needs to be removed. It is the absence of these things that allows our intimacy as families to flourish. If we can get these things out, and let God’s love rule, our hearts can enjoy the gift God has given us- family.
